Course Location: Class location is 450 Hamburg Turnpike Suite 2A in Wayne NJ 07470. (Click to see Google maps). Note its located directly across the street from Passaic County Sheriff's Department. Plenty of free Parking Available.

Course Info: The ONE-DAY PALS RENEWAL Course. The PALS Renewal program is for students renewing with current cards who wish to take the renewal program. The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. There is a Precourse Self-Assessment Test required prior to attending the course. (See below for details).

Continuing Education Accreditation: The American Heart Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and the Commission on Accreditation of Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) for 12.00 Advanced Continuing Education Hours (CEH's). Physicians: Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education 4.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM

Physician Assistants (PA): AAPA AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ maximum of 4.25 hour of Category I credit

Nurse Practitioners: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME/ACCPA or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants awarded 16.00 hours of Category 1 (Preapproved) Credits.

Nurses: ANCC Credit Designation Statement, The maximum number of hours awarded for this CE activity is 4.50 contact hours

Pharmacists: ACPE Credit Designation Statement 4.50 Contact Hours. Universal Program Number: 0256-0000-16- 840-L01-P

Paramedics/EMTs: EMS for 4.75 Basic CEHs (CAPCF), activity number 17-AMHA-F3-0346

All others are credited with 6.25 hours of Continuing Education Hours (CEH's). x

Completion card: Two (2) Year American Heart Association (AHA) Completion card - Card Issued at end of Course pending successful completion of written and MegaCode Testing. eCards Issued at end of Course.

Prerequisite: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR card. If your BLS card is expired, you must complete the BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion (BLS during PALS) testing during the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and BLS written exam, for an additional $75. If you do not have an American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card you must take a full course. After successful completion you will be issued a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Card.

Required Precourse Self Assessment Test: PALS Precourse Self-Assessment and Video Prework is required to complete prior to attending your scheduled course. Available at https://elearning.heart.org/course/1538 - Allow 4-hour to complete the pretest, must score 70% or better, but may be retaken if necessary. Please print and bring in completed results. (If you do not have a printer, take a picture with your phone of results clearly showing your score)

Failure to attend your scheduled class as a “no show/no call” are non-refundable and are not able to be rescheduled. Refunds are granted as per policy. You also have the option of rescheduling your course to a new date/time. If your course is more than two (2) days from the start you can reschedule at no cost. However, if you are within two (2) days of your course, you will be assessed a rescheduling fee. All reschedules must be done via our Reschedule Course Page.
