Many New Jersey organizations such as the American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) require personal trainers to be certified in CPR and AED use from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Whether or not the certifying organization requires CPR and AED certification, it’s best to have it because several New Jersey establishments require their trainers to be CPR/AED certified by the American Heart Association.

If you are taking the New Jersey Personal Trainer Exam soon, all registrants must hold current CPR/AED certification from the AHA at the time of registration that is still valid on the selected exam date.

ShowMeCPR provides AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED in 2 Easy Steps - Online + Classroom Learning

1. Register with the American Heart Association online portal at https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartsaver-cpr-aed-online and take class Heartsaver® CPR & AED Online part 1 (15-1401) under course catalog. You will pay the American Heart Association $15.00 to take the online course. Once you complete the course at your own pace, Print the Certificate with Serial Number and bring it with you to the in-person skills test.
   
   
2. See Course Calendar and Pick/Date and time for Skills Test on the Calendar Cost for in-person skills test is $55 and lasts about 45 min-1 hour skills session at our training center in Wayne New Jersey. (about 2mins from the Willowbrook Mall)

That's it! Entire cost is $70.00 and you're certified by the American Heart Association in Heartsaver CPR + AED to continue on with your personal trainer certification and be eligible to take the New Jersey Personal Trainer Exam. All students will receive a two (2) year certificate from the American Heart Association.
